You've just taken a big mouthful of delicious coffee when a small trickle escapes down the back of your throat. A violent coughing fit is imminent.

Do you:

a) try to swallow anyway, resulting in an unfortunate coffee explosion via the nasal passages?

b) cough and spray coffee across your desk and computer?

c) quickly spit the mouthful back into the mug (along with a healthy serving of saliva) before hacking away?

And if you chose C, do you go ahead and drink the coffee afterward?

Right. Me neither.

This may sound gross, but if I chose C I would drink it anyway. It's my own germs right?

I feel better now. ;)

(but the real question is this: would you drink MY mug of saliva coffee?)

I'd have to pass on that one. ;)

Yes. Just like I use the taste-testing spoon numerous times. Or I lick the spatula when I'm baking a cake and then reuse it. Hey, the heat kills off the germs.
And no one knows, so it won't hurt them.

Hey, at least you're a quick thinker.

I wouldn't drink the coffee probably. It depends on whether or not I can immediately procure more and whether or not I've had any yet that day.

Enough built-up pressure and it can spew out of your ears..... Or just grab a new cup??

Oh hell!! Spit it back into the cup!! Then hand the cup to a friendly co-worker!! ;)

Betsy's totally right- the heat kills the germs.

You all totally want to come have cake and coffee at my house now-- I can tell.

I've eaten at buffets before. I think my stomach could handle your house for coffee and goodies. :)

The other day I spit out coffee all over my car interior. EVERYWHERE and then didn't clean it up for approximately 3 days. Then my dad got in the car and wouldn't touch the door handle or push the button to put the windows down because my germs were everywhere. Doesn't he know that half of my germs are from him anyway? So what's the problem?
